Depart from Haridwar at 6:00 AM by private AC car to Guptkashi (6-7 hours, 200 km). Check into a Budget/Deluxe/Premium hotel, visit Ardhnareshwar Temple, and relax in the serene surroundings. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.
Drive to Sonprayag (30 km), then trek or take a pony/helicopter to Kedarnath Temple (16 km, 6-8 hours). Offer prayers and immerse yourself in the divine atmosphere. Overnight stay in Kedarnath (basic guesthouse).
Trek or ride back to Sonprayag after morning darshan, then drive to Guptkashi (1-2 hours). Relax at your Budget/Deluxe/Premium hotel. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.
After breakfast, drive to Badrinath (8-9 hours, 190 km) via Joshimath. Check into a Budget/Deluxe/Premium hotel, visit Badrinath Temple for evening aarti, and explore Tapt Kund. Overnight stay in Badrinath.
Post-breakfast, visit Mana Village, the last Indian village near the border. Drive to Rudraprayag (6-7 hours, 160 km) and check into a Budget/Deluxe/Premium hotel. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.
After breakfast, drive back to Haridwar (5-6 hours, 160 km), stopping at Devprayag Sangam for scenic views. Arrive by 5:00-6:00 PM, concluding your spiritual journey.
The best time for the Do Dham Yatra is from May to June and September to October, when the weather is pleasant and travel conditions are safe. The temples remain closed from November to April due to heavy snowfall.
Kedarnath is about 240 km from Haridwar, and it takes around 8–9 hours to reach by road and 35 minutes by helicopter. Badrinath is about 310 km from Haridwar, and it takes 9–10 hours by road and 40 minutes by helicopter.
The Do Dham Yatra is a holy journey to two famous Hindu temples – Kedarnath and Badrinath. It is believed that visiting these temples brings spiritual blessings and helps to purify the inner soul.
The Kedarnath trek is about 22 km, and it is a little tough trek to do, so basic fitness is needed. For the convenience of elderly travelers, pilgrims can also choose ponies, palkis, or helicopter services.
